AQUA-HOT CAB HEATERS SEPARATE YOU FROM THE COLD
It's not productive – or easy - to work in the cold operator
cabin of a tractor, utility vehicle or a construction vehicle like a
skid-steer, backhoe, or grader. If you're not getting enough heat where
you need it, then you need an Aqua-Hot auxiliary cabin heater that fits
into the limited space of your small work vehicle.
The Aqua-Hot Cabin Heater is a coolant-based hydronic heating system
designed for small compartment areas. It's easy enough to install
yourself with tools you probably have on hand. You just have to
determine what size heater you need.
So How Hot Do You Want To Be?
There are two measurements of heat. BTU output of the heater and what you feel — spot temperature.
Size your heater based on the cubic feet you need to heat and the
temperature you want to experience. Let's assume your fully enclosed
skid-steer operator compartment has approximately 100 cubic feet (LxWxH=
cubic feet) of space to heat and there's no insulation. If the outside
temperature is 25ºF and you want an inside temperature of 60ºF, you're
after a 35ºF temperature rise. Using the formula for heat flow, that
means a heater rated around 3,234 Btu/h can do the job.
Two Basic Truths to BTU Heating Ratings
BTU ratings are theoretical and coolant-based BTU heat delivery is
dependent upon the engine's coolant temperature and the flow rate.
Most heater ratings are based on automotive engine coolant
temperatures, pressure and flow rates that can sometimes reach as high
as 275ºF, but usually are about 200ºF to 220ºF. Tractors, for instance,
typically have an optimal coolant operating temperature of 195º. The
Aqua-Hot Cabin Heater ratings accurately reflect controlled conditions
with a coolant operating temperature of 170º F. Hotter engine coolant
temperatures will result in more heat takeoff available in the cabin.
Installation is Straight Forward
Just choose the mounting location where there's clearance to drill for
the mounting bracket attachment, with the wiring harness and hose
system. Carefully locate and bore the holes, connect to the coolant
system heater inlet and outlet ports (or coolant hoses), connect the fan
wiring, turn the heater on and check connections and functioning. Make
sure the heater feeder hose from your engine connects to the bottom
connector on the Aqua-Hot heater core. You're ready to go.
For easier installation on vehicles (side-by-sides) that do not have an existing heat circuit, the Aqua-Hot Installation Kit is required to protect against engine overheating, providing everything you’ll need for easy installation.
Live in a Warm World
If you're noticing the cold and need extra heat, it's time to install an
Aqua-Hot Cabin Heater or Auxiliary Heater. After all, you have play to
be had and work to do – you should be comfortable.
Choose from multiple cabin heater and auxiliary heater models below.
You’re sure to find the perfect heater to fit your need. Ideal for UTV
owners, hot rods, cabins of hoes, skid-steers, tractors and front
loaders. Plus greater BTU models for fleet vehicles such as small vans
and shuttles, as well as delivery truck cargo boxes.
